IMPORTANT: You must be familiar with Athenahealth EMR and ideally also with the Qure4U patient engagement app. This position is expected to develop superuser expertise in the daily use of those software applications.

Offered salary and other compensation:

Your schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5 pm.

Your mission & responsibilities as Patient Relations Specialist:

You will report to the Experience Team Leader. As our Patient Relations Specialist, you will be primarily responsible for ensuring an outstanding patient experience and for providing a concierge level of service. Some of our Patient Relations Specialist’s duties and responsibilities are:
  • Answer phones; return patient calls from 3rd party service, email, and Vein911 app.
  • Schedule new and established patients for their appointments.
  • Ensure patients information is accurately recorded in EMR.
  • Inform patients of costs of care.
  • Check in/check out patients and collect dues.
  • Manage and obtain physician referrals, as needed.
  • Maintenance and upkeep of the reception area.
  • Scan documents into EMR.
  • Correspond with staff on patient issues and concerns.
  • Perform research and provide information to patients as requested.
  • Assist Experience Team Leader, as appropriate.
  • Patient language translation (as necessary and appropriate).
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required experience and qualifications:
  • IMPORTANT: You must be familiar with Athenahealth EMR and ideally also with the Qure4U patient engagement app.
  • One to three years of work experience working in a medical or similar service-oriented industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of health insurance, referrals, authorizations, and claims.
  • Knowledge of computers, medical terminology and insurance in order to effectively handle the patient encounter.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience with Google Workspace.
