About our practice:
Wylie Dental Care has served patients since 1987. Dr. Charles Wylie has spent decades adopting the best techniques in every specialty — oral surgery, periodontal surgery, orthodontics, TMD treatment, full-mouth reconstruction, implants, and digital CAD-CAM dentistry. We treat staff and patients like family, and recommend the same treatment we would for our own.
Why you should join our group:
Our atmosphere is curious, open, safe, and creative — within the discipline of delivering excellent dental care on time. This is a place where growth-mindset people flourish: we celebrate the willingness to try, learn, and even fail in pursuit of mastery. Team members frequently say the days fly by because they are engaged and constantly developing new skills.
Your schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm (occasional evenings on full-mouth reconstruction overruns)

Your mission & responsibilities as Dental Assistant:
Help the dentist create happy patients who are dentally sound, comfortable, and refer others to the practice. Keep patients calm by communicating clearly while reading how they are responding. Some of your duties and responsibilities are:
Accurately gather patient data through impressions and intraoral scans
Assist or suction in 4-handed and 6-handed dentistry scenarios
Learn and hand all instruments on cue; manage cassettes through sterilization
Set up and clean rooms before and after every procedure
Pour and trim models in the lab; scan them into the computer
Make bite guards, retainers, and custom impression trays
More advanced: design crowns and prostheses in CAD software, then mill and finish them
Educate, motivate, and reassure patients throughout treatment
Required experience and qualifications:
College degree
Minimum 2 years of dental assisting experience
Strong hand skills and spatial-relationship perception
Background in athletics, or hobbies like drawing, painting, or crafts, is a plus
Preferred soft skills and personality traits:
Growth mindset — willing to make mistakes and learn from them
Focused on the process, not on looking good
Flexible and resilient
Clear, empathetic communicator
Self-motivated, responsible, and a strong team player
Decisive problem solver, organized, able to work under time pressure
